Is Aarf Home a kennel?

- No, Aarf Home is not a kennel. It is an in friendly Day Care facility for dogs, with provisions for cage-free Boarding at nights at the homes of our staff

Are you bonded and insured?

- Yes. Aarf Home is fully bonded and insured for the pets in its care.

How many dogs do you board at one time?

- .Aarf Home Doggie Day Care is open between 7:30am and 7:30pm. Boarding is limited not more than 3 dogs at one time for overnight boarding at our staff`s home.

Do you crate or cage the dogs in your care?

- We do not. Aarf Home is opposed to the ideas being animals being locked up or left to their own devices. Dogs boarding at Aarf Home mingle freely with the Aarf family and have a free run of the facility and our homes.

Do you provide food for dogs that board overnight?

- Aarf Home prefers the pet parents provide food for their pets for the duration of their stay. This way the dogs still eat the same food they are used to. However, at an extra cost of a dollar a day, Aarf Home does provide food.

How is the feeding procedure at Aarf Home?

- Each dog is fed his own food separately. Feed times are strictly monitored to curb fights over food.

Does the pet parent have to provide Aarf Home with dog bed and toys during their dog’s sleep over?

- Aarf Home has adequate beds for rest and toys for playtimes. You are free to drop a favourite toy along with your dog. At Aarf Home we pay the greatest importance to your dog’s comfort and emotional needs.

How will my pet adapt to new enviroment, even if temporarily?

- Your pet will adjust quickly to our facility, our family and routines. Feeding, cleansing, exercise, and play time are all monitored. No pet has gone home unhappy.

How much do you charge for boarding?

- Rates are seasonal and updated. Per day charges do decrease with an increased number of days stay. Aarf Home offers discounted rates if two dogs from the same family are boarded together. An extra fee of $4.00 for any service provided on statutory holidays apply. Click here for rates.

What methods of payments are accepted?

- We accept Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Certified Personal Checks and Cash. 50% of the total fee has to be remitted at confirmation/booking of the dates of stay.

I boarded my pet for two nights. Why did I get charged for three days?

- Rates are based on the calendar days of boarding, not just as overnight charges. Our staff begins tending to pet guests in our care at 6 a.m., so before you arrive for check out, your pet will have been fed, exercised, had his fur/coat cleaned and, in some cases, (if the pet stays for more than 10 days) have been bathed ( if pre-agreed) to prepare for going home.

What is your cancellation policy?

- We realize that plans do change, and wish to accommodate all of our customer's needs. So, a full refund of the deposit is provided upon 4 days advance cancellation (minus Credit card processing fees) of the scheduled arrival date. However Aarf Home would retain a day’s fee if the pet parent fails to drop the pet off on an agreed date or changes plans without informing staff at Aarf Home.

What if my dog has a medical condition?

- Dogs that need pills, vitamins or liquid medication can be accommodated. Please advise an Aarf Home staff member about your dog’s medical needs.

What happens if my pet gets sick or injured while under the care of Aarf Home?

- While the risk of injury is very low, pets still can become ill for various reasons. Aarf Home is situated close to a full service vet clinic, less than 500m down the road.
